Depart Bangalore to Hospet check in to the hotel, later drive to Hampi (15 kms). Hampi is a visual delight, especially due to its stark contrast from most other places. Temples, Bazzar Streets, Ruins and Rocks are all you see whichever direction you look at which. Exudes tremendous historical value and the ruins are a UNESCO World Heritage site occupying over 25 sq km. Cross Tunga Bhadra River visit "Anegundi" The Old Capital and Hanuman Temple. Its said Lord Hanuman (Monkey God) was born here and believed that Hampi was the Monkey Kindgdom (Kishkinda) in Ramayana 3000BC.

   DAY2 - HAMPI (Dinner)


After Breakfast proceed for an sightseeing trip of Hampi which includes Virupaksha Temple, Hampi Bazaar, Monolith Bull, Lakshmi Narasimha temple, Hemakuta Hill temples, Big Shivlinga, Vithala Temple (the famous Stone Chariot is located here), Musical pillars, Hazara Rama Temple, Royal Enclosures, Queens Bath, Zanana Enclosure (which also houses the Lotus Mahal), Elephant Stables, Achyut Raya temple, Statue of Ugra Narsimha, Virupaksha Temple, Mahanavmi Dibba, the Stepped Bath and the Matanga Hill (from where one can see the most beautiful sun set ever) and many more.

After early check out depart to Bijapur, the land of Greatest Islamic architecture. Once reaching get prepared to explore Gol Gumbaz the most impressive artistic achievements of the Deccan, which is the mausoleum of Muhammad Adil Shah. Experience The whispering gallery which runs round the interior of the dome. A single clap is echoed 7 times. Later visit Bijapur fort, Ibrahim Rauza, Malik-e-Maidan, and more historical places.

Early check out enroute short visit to “Kudal Sangama”, the place where the three rivers, Krishna, Malaprabha and Ghataprabha merge together. First, the former two rivers join and a bit later Ghataprabha joins. The entire area is a vast expanse of water resembling the sea. At the exact spot of the merger there is a monument at the site of the death of Basaveshwara, the saint who lived in the 7th century AD. Basavanna is considered as a Saint, but he was also a social reformer who opposed caste and inequalities in the society. With that drive ahead to Aihole.

Aihole:- Often called as “Cradle of Indian Architecture”, is a small village with a large array of temples. Best known of it is DurgaTemple, Ladkhan Temple. Aihole is a place where architectural styles were experimented and evolved. Over centuries, people tried, tested and perfected various models which probably got filtered into a few accepted styles that are seen in Pattadakal and other parts of India.

Later leave to Pattadakal

Pattadakal:- “The Evidences of Chalukyan architecture”. The small town boasts of beautiful 8th century temples.. The temples complex , on the banks of Malaprabha River was designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987. Overnight stay at Badami.


Have breakfast and visit Badami which is known for its “ancient rock-cut temples”. These temples are carved in the huge rocks which form the mountains. The temples were built by the kings of Chalukya dynasty who ruled a large part of South India from 6th to 8th century. Badami was the capital of Chalukyas then called as “Vatapi”. Most commonly visited are four cave temples, three dedicated to Shiva and Vishnu while the fourth one is a Jain Temple. And masterpiece Bhothanath Temple built adjacent to Agashtya Lake. With tht also visit Banashankari Temple which is just 5 Kms from Badami which is a ancient shrine dedicated to Goddess Banashankari, a form of Parvati.

With same routine after breakfast get prepared to vist Lakkundi a tiny village near Gadag town. Lakkundi has more than 100 ruined temples and sacred wells known as Kalyani which are noted for its stepped well with artistically built canopy, and over 29 inscriptions spanning from the rulers of Chalukyas, and the Hoysalas.

Drive back to Bangalore.
