   DAY1 - Bangalore-Shravanbelgola(140Kms)-Halebedu(90 Kms)-Belur(20 Kms)-Hassan(40 Kms)

After breakfast we proceed to Sharvanbelgola.

Shravanbelgola:This is a prominent Jain pilgrimage centre in Hassan district. It is home to Asia’s largest monolithic statue of the first Jain sage Lord Gommateshwara Bahubali. After visiting Lord Gomateshwara statue we drive to Halebedu (120 Kms).

Halebedu: The temples of Halebedu like those of Belur, bear testimony to the rich, cultural heritage of Karnataka. The Hoysaleswara Temple, dating back to the 12th century, has an astounding wealth of sculptural details. The walls of the temple are covered with an endless variety of gods and goddesses, animals, birds and dancing girls. Yet no two sides of the temple are the same. This magnificent temple-guarded by a Nandi Bull-was never completed, despite 86 years of labour. We then drive to Belur.

Belur is famous for its ancient exquisite temples. The Chennakeshava Temple being the finest example of the Hoyasala architecture which took 103 years to complete. The façade of the temple is filled with intricate sculptures and friezes with no portion left blank. Sculptures of Elephants, episodes from the epics, sensuous dancers are all there, with their awe inspiring intricate workmanship.

We then drive back to Hassan and stay over night at a hotel.

   DAY2 - Tour to Hampi in Hospet (200 Kms from Hassan)

After checking out early from the hotel, we proceed to Hospet (200 Kms). On arrival at Hospet we check into the hotel and relax a while. We visit Hampi. This place is a visual delight, especially due to its stark contrast from most other places. Temples, bazaar streets, ruins and rocks are all that you see whichever direction you look at. The ruins are of tremendous historical importance and this site has been named a “UNESCO World Heritage” site spreading over 25 sq km. We then, cross Tungabhadra River and we visit "Anegundi". This was the old capital of Hanuman with a Temple. Its said Lord Hanuman (Monkey God) was born here and believed that Hampi was the Monkey Kindgdom (Kishkinda) in Ramayana 3000BC.

We stay overnight at a Hotel

   DAY3 - HAMPI-Ruins of Vijayanagar.

After Breakfast we proceed to explore the tourist sites in Hampi which includes Virupaksha Temple, Hampi Bazaar, Monolith Bull, Lakshmi Narasimha temple, Hemakuta Hill temples, Big Shivlinga, Vithala Temple (the famous Stone Chariot is located here), Musical pillars, Hazara Rama Temple, Royal Enclosures, Queens Bath, Zanana Enclosure (which also houses the Lotus Mahal), Elephant Stables, Achyut Raya temple, Statue of Ugra Narsimha, Virupaksha Temple, Mahanavmi Dibba, the Stepped Bath and the Matanga Hill (from where one can see the most beautiful sun set ever) and many more.

   DAY4 - Hampi-Aihole-Pattadakal-Badami

After checking out early morning we drive to Aihole (120 Kms)

Aihole Often called as “Cradle of Indian Architecture”, is a small village with a large array of temples. Best known for it’s DurgaTemple, Ladkhan Temple. Aihole is a place where architectural styles were experimented and evolved. Over centuries, people tried, tested and perfected various models which probably got filtered into a few accepted styles that are seen in Pattadakal and other parts of India. Next, we drive down to Pattadakal (20 Kms).

Pattadakal has all the evidences of Chalukyan architecture”. The small town boasts of beautiful 8th century temples.. The temple complex , on the banks of Malaprabha River was designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987.

We then proceed to Badami and stay overnight at a hotel.

   DAY5 - Badami-Bangalore ( 450 Kms)

In the morning after breakfast, we will explore Badami, well known for its ancient rock-cut temples. These temples are carved out of huge rocks that forms part of the mountains. The temples were built by the kings of Chalukya dynasty who ruled a large part of South India from 6th to 8th century. Badami was the capital of Chalukyas then called as “Vatapi”. Most commonly visited are four cave temples, three dedicated to Shiva and Vishnu while the fourth one is a Jain Temple. And the masterpiece is the Bhothanath Temple built adjacent to Agashtya Lake. We then leave for Bangalore that would be an overnight journey.
